Turturice Floor Sanding would like to inform you of what to expect during the process and after. This also gives you a chance to ask questions about the procedure and what my policies are in regards to working in your home.

Procedure and Timing

Sand and natural finishing with three coats of water urethane usually takes a period of two - three days; sanding, staining and finishing with three coats water urethane usually takes three - four days, during which time on either procedure there can be no traffic on the floor, however, at times you may have access, discuss this with me. I can reasonably estimate how long it will take. If your job is quite large it could take longer or if the weather is damp and raining it may add for drying time.

Dust

Precautions are taken to minimize the dust; i.e., the sanding machines have bags on them to catch the majority as it is sanded, but, the adjacent rooms are subject to have some fine dust accumulation on window ledges; shelves, flat surface, etc. Plastic should be hung inside doorways of rooms you want to protect. This is the best way to minimize the dust. I keep doors closed when possible. Note: All dust bags and disposable materials are to be left outside for your garbage collector to pick up. Sanding dust and rags are flammable and must be kept outside. Do not store indoors prior to your pick up day.

Shoemolding

Shoemolding is not included in a refinishing estimate, however, I can include it under a separate price.

Minor Paint Touch Up

As in any construction job there is a possibility that the wall and wordwork may be touched, precautions are taken to prevent this from happening. Minor paint touch up is to be done by others.

Warranty

There are no written warranties on floor finish. This is because a floor is the most used of all basic items and is subject to countless abuses. I take pride in my work and reputation and do my best to see your job completed in the most professional manner.

Scheduling

Scheduling is done in advance and it is your responsibility to see that your home is made accessible.

Pets

Pets should be secured by the homeowner. I cannot be responsible to watch them.

Alarms

Security alarms connected to a dispatch is the homeowner’s responsibility.

Draperies

I cannot be responsible for window covering left in place.

Electrical Power

Sanding machines require 220 power, discuss this with me.

Prior to Arrival

Prior to my arrival, it is the responsibility of the homeowners to:

- Remove all furniture. Turturice Floor Sanding does not move furniture.
- Remove pictures from the walls.
- Take down draperies.
- Empty all rooms.

Turturice Floor Sanding may leave dust bags at your house for pick-up by your garbage service. These bags are highly flammable and care should be taken to store them safely.

To minimize dust to other rooms, the homeowner is to hang plastic in the doorways. Turturice Floor Sanding does not hang plastic, due to the possibility that tape may cause damage to existing surfaces and tacks make small holes. Turturice Floor Sanding cannot be responsible for this potential damage.
